52 Lists Project Week 27 – Life’s Trails That Made Me Better

“What seems to us bitter trials are often blessings in disguise.” –  Oscar Wilde

This week’s list are trials that have made me better. Here are a few of the hard places in my life that made me better.

A time of childhood that led to the trial of becoming a woman.

A time of motherhood that led to a trial of becoming a grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren.

A time of weight-gain journey to weight-loss success — this journey celebrating four years of 112 pound weight loss.

A time of facing the fear of failing and returning to school — this trial gave me a career in the field of nursing.

A time of deep depression, a trial with illness, vice-gripping migraines, all creating a choice to get up and put one foot in front of the other.

“Put one foot in front of the other and keep going.” – Diana Rockwell

A time when I accepted Christ and then a time of renewal and accepting redemption. God is good and He is good all the time. Following Christ has made me better whether I am wearing my hat as mom, grandma, wife, or nurse. Jesus knows who I am, where I am, and what is best for me.  He lovingly declares that I am his beloved and he is mine. His banner over me is LOVE.

[…] Somehow, I just keep going, because what other choice do I have than to put one foot in front of the other and just keep going (as my friend Diana so beautifully reminded me of this week in her post about trials that have made her better.) […]
