Blessings-Away

But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go

away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. John 16:17

God ask Moses to come up the mountain in Exodus 24 and to leave the people behind.

Background.

In Exodus 24, God invites Moses to come to the Mount Horeb. It was like Mission Impossible, Moses prepare the people and then come alone to my mountain. Before going up the mountain, Moses meets with the people of Israel and he lovingly covers the ordinances of the Lord and he wrote them all down. Moses prepares to go away so he rises early in the morning and he built an altar at the foot of the mountain with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes. The young men and sons of Israel offered burnt offerings and a young bull as a peace-offering to the Lord. The book of the covenant was read. The people said all that was spoken we will do. The blood was sprinkled on the altar and on the people, the covenant Lord has made with you in accordance to words of God.

Moses in verse 9 with Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel went up to the mountain and they saw God and under his feet was on sapphires, as clear as the sky. The Lord did not harm the nobles of the sons of Israel. Moses receives his instructions, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay there and I will give you the commandments which I have written for their instructions.  In verse 18, Moses went up to the mountain of God and a cloud covered the mountain. Moses was away on the mountain for forty days and nights.

My five minutes of thoughts of the word- Away

Go

Jesus was born of a virgin. The first away I thought of was the song,  Away in a Manger.  When He was born He was the last Adam. Adam was born physically and spiritually alive, but when they sinned Adam and Eve spiritually died. So the reason Jesus was the last Adam is because He is the only other person born spiritually and physically alive. We are born physically alive but spiritually dead. Jesus began his ministry when he was thirty years old, and in three short years, his mission impossible was about to be completed. He foretold of where He was going when He went away.  In the book of John, John 14:1 he says he is going away to build mansions for us but he promises if He (Jesus) goes away and he will come again. In John 16;17, he says he has to go away for the Holy Spirit to be able to come. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. When we believe in Jesus and ask him into our hearts, we become children of God. We are assured that we will be with Him in eternity. I asked Jesus to be my savior when I was eleven-years-old. When I was eleven i became spiritually alive. The law that was given to Moses was used to point out that no one can come to God through the Law because no one can keep the Law. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Stop

Father God, I praise you that although the law was good and holy there was always a plan of redemption. We have redemption through your son. Lord I praise you that when I accepted your son as my savior, I was redeemed from the law. I praise you for your word and promises that I can claim everyday. Today I ask for the one who might be searching trying to be good enough. We can never be good enough. We just need Jesus. Blessings.

 He cares for you
