Blessings-Say

The Spirit and the bride say, -Come!- (2)

Background.

The Israelites are in Rephidim and God provided water for the Israelites despite their unbelief. However, in Exodus 17: 8-15, danger visited the Isrealites. The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. Moses told Joshua to choose some men to fight the Amalekites, Moses was going to the top of the hill with the staff of God in his hands. Moses did not go alone, he has Aaron and Hur with him for support. You see the Isrealites were winning as long as Moses held the staff of God over his head. As his arms would get tired, Aaron and Hur would support his arms so that his hands remained steady till sunset. Joshua and the men overcame the Amalekites. Moses commemorated this victory, built an altar and called it “The Lord is my Banner.”

Here are my five minutes of thoughts on the word “SAY”

I hope you are blessed.

Go.

One of the popular sayings today is “Just Saying!” Do you think God is in heaven looking down when we make the same mistake over and over again, “Diana Just saying when are you going to learn this lesson?”  Just saying, “When you charge on your credit cards, a bill is going to come in the mail so why are you shocked when the bill arrives?” Just saying, “Why are you surprised when the scale reflects a weight gain when you have done nothing but eat whether you are glad, sad or mad?”  Just saying, “When you rush out of the house in the morning without spending time with me and you wonder why you are angry at all the commuters?”

This is the second time the Lord has fought a battle for the Israelites, they watched the Egyptians die when they pursued them after the Israelites left Egypt and followed them as the Israelites crossed the Red Sea. This battle was wonas long as Moses held up the staff of God, when his arms got tired , Aaron and Hur would help hold his arms up  until Joshua and the men defeated the enemy. Finally the battle ended. Moses said,  “The Lord is my Banner.”

Stop.

Father God, let us say what is important and edifying. Let us say how much you love us. Let us say how you always deliver us. Let us say to the non believer what is the reason for our hope. Let us say who we are in Christ. Let us say we are blessed because God is in our lives. Let us say we are loved. Let us say we are covered under His Banner. Blessings.

I used to teach Sunday School and there is a song His Banner Over Me Is Love. If you want to please click on banner to hear the music.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10
