Caring- 2

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27

Caring for others comes naturally for me as a nurse. My career has rewarded me and even though I will retire in a couple of years, I spend my days sharing God’s love with those I care for as a case manager.

But I was not always a nurse. As a mom, caring for my boys a top priority, although, in my youth the boys did not come with an instruction manual, with caring mistakes were few because of grace. I tried to be a good mom. I helped with home work. I brought my anatomy cat to my oldest son’s class and shared what I was learning in anatomy when he was in fifth grade. Now that is caring. I have cared for our grandchildren. This is not a chore but a delight. I loved having the children to care after.

Caring for friends I delight in whether it is sending a card, flowers, or a telephone call. I am in the midst of a sewing project that is why I have not been writing because I have made scarves for a friend who will be launching a book in August. Praying is the best gift we can give our friends beside spending time with them. I treasure my friends and I love them not for what they give me or do for me but for the fact that we care for each other.

So, the word is caring and this week we have had so much violence in the United States. We need to pray that we as American’s start caring about our neighbors. “Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.”

Lastly caring is sharing and the most important thing to share now is that Christ is the one way ticket to heaven. He is the real thing. He is the one in a million. He is the way the truth and the light, no man comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. John 14:.6.

Beloved, how are you do in the caring department? is there someone you need to apologize too? someone you need to pray for? someone you need to start caring for? How can you show that person in tangible ways this week that you care for him/her?

Father God, we praise you because you are a caring God. You alone are worthy of our praise. You are amazing. you are the creator. Help us to be more caring. Lord the hate that is in the world. Please help the tension to be calmed down and there be no more violence. Lord in your eyes we are one race. Your children. Help us to love each other without seeing the differences. Help each of us to be more caring this week. In Jesus’ name Amen.

Amen! Thank you for sharing these words, Diana! Similar words were running through my head: being a mother, wife, etc. we have a lot of “caring” in our lives. And, currently caring for a husband with dementia – getting worse – and hearing loss…caregiver is added to the caring of a mother.

I chose a different way to share “Care”! Joining the T@T group to link-up with Karen!

Dear Barbara, a life of caring, when you care with someone with dementia. Be sure and care for your self. Blessings Diana
