Choice

I had no choice the family I was born in

I had no choice the time I was born

I had no choice that I am blind in my left eye

Choice

I have a choice to be happy today

I have a choice to serve God

I have a choice what is my attitude.

Choice

I have a choice to read God’s word.

I have a choice to pray.

I have a choice each day to have a quiet time.

Choice

I have a choice to eat right.

I have a choice to exercise.

I have a choice to be healthy for the Lord.

Charles Swindoll says that we have a choice everyday what our attitude will be, will it be the Christ-like attitude in Philippians 2: 1-5a

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

In verse 14 of the same chapter, “Do everything without grumbling or arguing,”

Beloved, what is your daily attitude? Are you filled with anxiety? Don’t skip over this, what is causing you anxiety? In Philippians 4: 4-6a we are to rejoice and not to be anxious.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything,

Is your child struggling with ADD, ADHD, Autism? Is there more month than money? Is your husband on disability and your salary barely covers the rent? Is your migraines happening more often? Is your car breaking down? do you want a second chance with your ex-husband and he won’t give you the time of day? are you being harassed at work? are you facing a serious illness? are you having an emotional affair at work?

Beloved, God is good, He is aware of what you are facing.  Sometimes we have to start with repentance. Then we have to think on these other things to keep our attitudes good.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

If our choice of attitude is to think of whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy and we think on theses things, how can we have a rotten attitude. I want God’s peace with me. Here is my practical example. I do not do well with the time change. I volunteered this weekend to work and then I remembered the time change. Swindoll says, “10% situation and 90% how I react,” so I decided I would be positive. This morning, the alarm went off, I did not grumble, I immediately was up, dressed and my attitude was good. I made an exerted effort to not complain and I made the choice to not be in a bad mood about the time change. Beloved it worked. I made it through the day with a happy spirit.

    I fully agree with what Rachelle said in the post before mine…I love this post!! Bless you my sweet friend as I so needed to hear these words today. Anxiety has taken over this past week with my daughter which in turn caused me to drown in anxiety. However I am making the choice to give this to God. He Is More powerful Than This Anxiety and I am choosing to trust Him.
    Thank you for everything that you do for us. I have been truly blessed by you. Love you my friend .
