Five Minute Friday

As a child, dancing was my choice when I grew up, a can can dancer, a ballerina, and a jitter bug dancer. My mom loved Elvis and she could cut a rug. My father was very musical and playing the guitar was his speciality.  He could sing Hank Williams as well as anyone. The only problem was I never learn ballet, jitter bug or can, can dancing. But I did meet Jesus and learned about King David in the Psalm 149: 2-4

Let Israel be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.…

Dance was an act of worship. I attended a church recently that had a beautiful woman she had an aura surrounding her. She was praising God and dancing was part of her worship so beautiful. I have never felt that free to dance in church. King David danced before the Lord as a part of his worship. Beloved, worship God daily with prayers, praise, and thanksgiving.

Great post. David did indeed dance. May we dance like David danced! I’m visiting from FMF where I’m parked in the #6 spot.
