“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.  John 3: 16-17

Driving to work each morning I listen to Charles Swindoll at Insight For Living. Last week his series started with the WHY would Jesus leave heaven choosing birth as a baby knowing that it was time to fulfill the prophecies of the Old Testament. Why would Jesus leave heaven to come to a rude, mean, cruel, world. A world that would spit on him, whip him, yes, even crucify him! He came because He is part of the triune God and the answer is in John 3:16 He loves you and me.

Beloved God is love. From the time, sin entered the world, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, the sin plan became necessary. Have you taken advantage of the son plan? God gave his only son. Let that soak in. God who always was and always will be. Who is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient, knows how rotten my thinking is at times, he gave up his only son to die on the cross for me and for you. Have you ever thought about this he would have come to earth and fulfilled his destiny if it had only been you? All we have to do is believe that He is God’s son. Do you believe? Oh beloved, if not why not? I hope we are spending eternity together.

The fourth candle is LOVE.
