31 Day Writings Bible Study

Day-5 Advent

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9-6

The first candle is purple. It is the prophecy candle to remind us that Christ prophecy hundreds of years before Christ was born. Prayer as we light the purple candle -the candle of Hope. Which of the names mean the most to you today?

Wonderful -Your statutes are wonderful; I obey them. Psalm 119: 129

Counselor- But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26

Mighty God- You show  unfailing love to thousands, but you also bring the consequences of one generation’s sin upon the next. You are the great and powerful God, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. Jeremiah 32:18

Everlasting Father- May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 2 Thessalonians 2:16

Prince of Peace- “‘When the prince provides a freewill offering to the LORD–whether a burnt offering or fellowship offerings–the gate facing east is to be opened for him. He shall offer his burnt offering or his fellowship offerings as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and after he has gone out, the gate will be shut. Ezekiel 46:12

My mother’s nativity set that I had for many years. My niece loved the baby Jesus. When she came to my house, she played with the baby Jesus. One Christmas, I bought her a baby Jesus of her own but it was not the same. She loved the baby Jesus from the nativity set. Do you love the real baby Jesus?

Wonderful resonates with me today. His word is wonderful.

My act of kindness today was buying a cup of coffee for a peer and praying for a friend?
