Devoted to Work

Five-Minute Friday A time to write for five minutes on a word without worry about mistakes and then to post with other amazing writers.

Work

Instead, I devoted myself to the work on this wall. All my men were assembled there for the work; we did not acquire any land. Nehemiah 5: 16

I’ve worked since I turned twelve. At one point, we worked all summer to go see the Monkey’s. I can still remember arriving at the concert, I was in eighth grade. Nehemiah heard that his homeland was in ruins, the wall needed to be rebuilt. He became physically ill and the King he worked for noticed his face. The King asked Nehemiah what was the problem. Nehemiah explained, he’s such a good employee that the King grants his wish and if you have never read the story, the wall’s rebuilt in the time set forth. Beloved, when I decided to end my work, I had to decide, if I was worthy enough to retire early. After wrestling, I retired. I’ve worked in many jobs but now I am in one where I direct my days. I still want to hear, “Well done good and faithful servant.”

Oh I am sure you will hear this… I’m guessing when you lean in, you can hear Him whispering it even now!

A life directed by God’s hand is well lived and gets the Father’s “well done” joyous message.
