Five Minute Friday: Exhale

God is our oxygen. He breathed life into Adam.  The very act of breathing is the first thing that happens when a baby is born that baby mast take a first breath. Did you know that to inhale is work, to exhale-to blow out your air does not take as much energy? I have taught energy conservation for the person who struggles to breath. One performs the activity on the exhalation, stops the activity on the inhalation. God gives us the ability to exhale, relax, fill our lungs.  He gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ. I am thankful that I do not have to think about breathing. I am thankful I can take a deep breath in and blow it out and somehow in that action, I feel less stress. I can relax, God knows how many times I will breath in my life.

God is our exhalation. He wants us to take in his beauty and then relax and trust in Him. The very act of exhaling is a gift from God. Try it: Take in a cleansing breath, hold it, now exhale. Now look at your beautiful children or grandchildren, the sun rise or the sunset, that circumstance that was causing you to hold your breath, you can entrust that to God as you exhale. There is a song, Breath On Me in an old hymnal I have, the chorus is: Breathe on me, breathe on me, Holy Spirit, breathe on me. Take thou my heart, cleanse every part, Holy Spirit, breathe on me.  Blessings. Diana

Interesting. I didn’t know it was harder to inhale than to exhale. Should have noticed that during the weeks I spent with a friend in pulmonary distress at the hospital. Love the way you started the
post, “God is our oxygen…” so true. Thanks for joining 5MF.

This is a great relaxation technique I’ve seen posted in a bunch of places the last couple of days. Just breathing. Inhale. Exhale. Simple truth. Thanks for sharing!
