Go.

We celebrate freedom of our nation on July 4th, I celebrate freedom walking with Christ. My desire “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” because “Every Day Is Sweeter Than The Day Before.”  My faith is firm, I’m redeemed, with everlasting love and eternal life starts now. My journey with freedom started with a prayer appointment with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Chill was in the air, fear that someone other than me would know my secrets, judgment could not be any harder than I imposed. Oh in my head, I knew Christ forgives, but my heart hurt. You see, I didn’t intend to follow the tempter, I wanted the emotional pain to go away, yet, I flirted with enemy of my soul. After all, I was a Christian, I loved God but at the crossroads, I chose the wrong road. Now many years later, the tempter whispered in my ear, forgiveness was for you but not for me. I believed. Until the door closed and the prayers began, three women devoting their time, praying for my freedom. We used a booklet by Neil Andersen, Steps To Freedom. Step one I renounced all involvement with occult, cult,  false religious teachings, practices, and for me nagging thoughts. Step two I renounced the deception of the world, how I deceived myself, and how I defended myself instead of trusting God. Step three bitterness versus forgiveness, oh, how I wanted forgiveness but I didn’t want to forgive after all I would not have been there had things been different. But by the power of the Holy Spirit, I forgave one by one those that hurt me and I asked God to bless those who hurt me. Step four I asked for forgiveness for my rebellion. Step five renouncing and forsaking habitual and sexual sins, I was still under condemnation for stealing when I was a child. Step seven, I renounced any family sins such as alcoholism that I might have a tendency to gravitate toward. Tears flowed from my eyes, gratitude for the three women that were the arms of Jesus. I changed that day I no longer was condemned, I was transformed by the renewing and regenerating of my mind. I was free, free indeed.

Stop

Shortly after that day in November, I went to Israel, to share my testimony. Satan had no claims on me. I proclaimed Psalm 103: 1-12

Praise the Lord, my soul;

all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

2Praise the Lord, my soul,

and forget not all his benefits—

3who forgives all your sins

and heals all your diseases,

4who redeems your life from the pit

and crowns you with love and compassion,

5who satisfies your desires with good things

so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6The Lord works righteousness

and justice for all the oppressed.

7He made known his ways to Moses,

his deeds to the people of Israel:

8The Lord is compassionate and gracious,

slow to anger, abounding in love.

9He will not always accuse,

nor will he harbor his anger forever;

10he does not treat us as our sins deserve

or repay us according to our iniquities.

11For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

so great is his love for those who fear him;

12as far as the east is from the west,

so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

In 1996, I began my ministry with my church walking a woman through the Steps to Freedom. My joy seeing this person transform as she embraces freedom is better than any gift.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

    Diana,
    There is nothing more beautiful in all the world then watching someone become free. When the chains are broken, and freedom is accepted. The tempter of our soul always whispers that we are the only one, that no one will understand, that we will be rejected… But the lover of our soul always whispers, “You are my one, I do understand, and I have accepted you in the Beloved. Taste and see that I am good. For whom the son sets free, is free indeed.” I didn’t know you before you found freedom, but I’m so blessed to know your beautiful, free self! Because of Him, #HopePrevails, and you have proved it in your testimony!

    Thank you for your transparency Diana! I haven’t had time to do the Steps to Freedom yet, but the booklet is right here with all of my other Bible Study stuff. I think I will be able to do it this week since we have a break from The Mended Heart. I love everything about you my sweet sister!

    I hope you have a blessed weekend with your Dad! 🙂 ❤
