Have you ever been so passionate for the gospel message- the good news of Jesus Christ that where ever you went you shared that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior? Romans 1:16 says, “ For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” I remember when my mother passed away that I shared the gospel message with everyone that looked at me it seemed. With time urgency wore off and my evangelism efforts fluctuated. However, witnessing is something I am not ashamed to do and am willing to share God’s love. This year sharing the good news two have accepted Christ. When is the last time you asked someone to ask Jesus to be their savior?
Beloved, Romans written by the apostle Paul shares the love of God, the righteousness of God, justification, salvation, and explores the Flesh versus the Spirit. I learned what is known as the “Roman Road To Salvation” which are verses to lead someone to Christ. Personally, I love the book of Romans and I have two more verses from Romans for my life verses series.
The verses to lead someone to Christ in the book to Romans are:
I consider myself a good person, won’t that be enough?
Romans 3:23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. NLT
Romans 3:10 As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous–not even one. NLT
Romans 5:12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. NLT
Is sin really that big of a deal? If it is what Hope is there?
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. NLT
After what I’ve done to grieve God how can he forgive me?
Romans 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. NLT
How can I be saved?
Romans 10:10 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. NLT
Experiencing God, by Henry Blackaby, he shares that God is at work around us all the time and he invites us to join God, the question is will you? In Luke 2 we read, “He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Beloved, God made righteousness for us possible through the living resurrected Jesus Christ. Are you ashamed of the gospel, the good news. Will you write out your testimony, practice your testimony in front of a mirror. Will you share your testimony with your next door neighbor, the person in the grocery store, your friends?
Life Lesson: It is important to have your testimony written out. Will you memorize the verses in the Roman Roadway?
Father God, Never let me be ashamed of the gospel. Let us stand for Jesus. Let me always be willing to give the reason for my joy, my hope. Today is the day of salvation. You are a God of grace. You are a God of mercy, love, and faith. You sent your Son so that I may have eternal life. Lord you are our refuge and our fortress. You are our God in whom we trust. Because of your love Lord I am free from fear and condemnation. In the name of Jesus Amen
