Five Minute Friday.  The word today is Good.

Go.

When I saw the prompt, I began to think of Good Friday.  There is a beautiful song with the above lyric in the song.  When He Was On The Cross I Was On His Mind.   I have always wondered why the Friday before Easter was called Good Friday. I found out after a little research that I am not the only one asking the question. There is an article on “What Is Good Friday/Holy Friday.”   The scripture Mark 9:31 says,

“For he taught his disciples, and said to them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.” Mark 10:34 says, “And they shall mock him, and shall whip him, and shall spit on him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.”

The word is good. God said it was good when He created the earth. I know that He loved Jesus. Jesus is Good. Because Jesus was willing to die on the cross and cry out , It is finished. I have a good life. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice. Because when you were on the cross I was on your mind.

Stop.

 

I am loved by God, the alpha, the omega, the beginning, the end. According to the Bible, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am a saint who sometimes sins. I believe that Jesus is God's son and that He died on the cross to give me eternal life. I am married to my high school sweet heart Doug. I have been blessed by two adult sons Randy and Dale, who are married and I have six grandchildren Christian, Seth, Ethan, Hunter, Sabrina and Emerson. I became a nurse as an adult. I have had an amazing career and give all the glory to God.

    That is so true. I was on His mind too as were millions of other individual Christians. He thought of each one of us. That is what is “good” about Good Friday. The miracle of His love. Thanks for blessing me today.

    The exchange that happened that day was good. I am reminded of a little song from childhood, God is so good, God is so good, Yes God is so good, He’s so good to me. He didnt have to and yet HE did! wow my heart is full of love and thanks!

    Isn’t beautiful and amazing that when Jesus was on the cross, He was actually thinking of each of us? It humbles me every time I step back and ponder this. Easter blessings to you and your family!

    This makes me think of a song by Misty Edwards, “Always On My Mind”. God never stops thinking of us.
