I am bought with a price.

Each day seemed more difficult than the other. I’m in middle management, the money is great but the hours are long and you’re pressed from the staff you manage and your manager. I’ve decided it is time to change my position to leave my management job. I accept an interview, I am given the job at a loss in pay, do I accept the position?

Judas betrays Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. After Jesus’ death, he tries to return the money. Matthew 27:3 says, “When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. Jesus knew Judas would betray him just as he knew Peter would deny him.

What’s Jesus worth? Jesus gave his life so that we have eternal life. Jesus is God’s son. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” and in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Because of his love for us, we are his sheep according to John 10.  Romans 8, we are known and are identified and call out to the God through the Holy Spirit, Abba Father. He is our Daddy and nothing can separate us from the love of God according to the end of Romans 8: 37-39 says, “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Our job is not to grieve the Holy Spirit. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. What does it mean to be the temple of the Holy Spirit? What can we do to show that we honor our bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit? We’re bought with a price. Jesus gave his life so that we may have eternal life. Beloved, we are to honor God with our bodies, how do we do that? Is it a new way to think that you’re bought with a price, and you belong to God?

I gave up my management position. They asked do you want to know what you will be paid and I said it didn’t matter and yes I took a loss. But my peace of mind far out weighed the amount of money I was going to make. Beloved, you are bought with a price, you belong to God.

Daily Challenge will you write a thank you not to God that you’re bought with a price and write out the verse 1 Corinthians 6: 20.

Father God, that you that you gave us your one and only son to die on the cross for our sins. That you allow us to call you Abba Father. That he arose from the dead and you see us through his shed blood on the cross. Thank you that I am set free and that I was bought with a price, and I belong to God. In Jesus name. Amen.
