For many years I struggle liking myself, my left eye is blind since birth, so I am self-conscious, a overbite caused me to have an awkward smile, all of this is left over from my childhood, teased never felt pretty. Now I am Diana, a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, child of God, nurse, dog-lover, on-line bible discussion leader, blog writer, caregiver, and daughter of the I am. Really who are we, created by God for God and in Psalm 139 we are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are loved by the I AM. Who is the I AM?
Moses in the desert comes upon the burning bush that is not consumed.
Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?”God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”God, furthermore, said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.…Exodus 3: 13-15
“Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I have called: I am he; I am the first and I am the last. Isaiah 48:12
Beloved, God is the I AM. I am not the I am but I am loved by the I AM. There is a wonderful book by Louie Giglio who wrote, I Am Not But I Know I Am
He shares, I am not,” but God knows my name.
“I am not,” but He has pursued me in His love.
“I am not,” but I know the Creator of the universe.
“I am not,” but I know “I AM!”
So you see beloved, I am Diana, child of God, I am a daughter of a King, an earthly father, a wife, a mom, a grandma, a friend, a writer, a nurse, a soul, a helper, I am the mom of Tory, a daughter-in-law, I am who I am by the grace of God. I am redeemed. I am reconciled, I am sanctified, I am justified, I am loved.
Beloved, today we are blessed to see who we are in Christ. He is the I AM.
