God’s Attribute

Immutable

There is nothing more certain in life than change. My dad is in Oklahoma and his favorite saying about the weather is, “Just wait a day and the weather will change!” My job is the same everyday. I am there to help a person go home from the hospital but my job is not static. I have different patient’s, different family interactions, and different concerns that I find an answer.

What changes do you see in your life? What changes do you need to make in your life?

Beloved, there is one that never changes and that is God. Another of God’s Attributes in the A-Z challenge is the attribute, God is Immutable.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? Numbers 23:19

Beloved, we have a faithful God. God was faithful to take care of Adam and Eve. He provided redemption for us through Christ when the first Adam sinned. God did not forget about Joseph when He was in prison. God was faithful to the Israelites, He heard the cries of the Israelites while in Egypt. God restored Job to health. God answered the prayers of Queen Esther. He provided a husband for Ruth. He did not forget Daniel when Daniel was in the lion’s den. God provided safety and a loyal friend for King David when he was pursued by Saul. God never changes.  There is a great song by the New Boys called “We Believe”

What attribute of God do you need most in your life? How has God worked in your life demonstrating that He never changes?

Father God, You never change, You are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. You answer our prayers. Your love is so amazing.  Lord for the woman reading this that needs a fresh start with you, would you become so real to her. Would you surround the woman who doubts that she is loved with loving friends. Lord for the person whose life has changed due to unemployment would you meet her needs physically, spiritually and financially. I pray that each of us will draw near to you because when we draw near to you, you draw near to us. In Jesus’ name, Amen

I’m thankful God is immutable. It may sound simple, but knowing this allows me to plan my day for me and my family.

I am thinking of the old hymn, “I Need Thee Every Hour.” Every day in every way, I need Him. I got sick while traveling, and He is healing my body. It is going to be amazing to see how He is going to heal my finances, and my heart. He is an amazing God.
