I’ve Learned That…..

Tuesday at Ten

Learn

Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Isaiah 1: 17-18

I’ve learned that life is short. It seems the older I become, the faster time passes. We all have twenty-four hours in a day. Beloved, are you actively learning? As an adult, I returned to college. I had become disabled with migraine headaches in the early 1980’s and the Department of Rehabilitation was willing to send me to college to learn how to become a medical assistant. Upon returning, I quickly discovered that I was able to learn. I became a really good student. I had feeling of being a failure since I had lost my job but with each course I passed, my self esteem improved and soon I began to believe I could become a registered nurse. I learned that through perseverance, one can reach goals that seem out of one’s reach. I learned that as a registered nurse my career was what ever I wanted to do. I learned that as long as I put one foot in front of the other, despite pain, I am able to focus and work as a nurse. Each day I that I work, there is opportunity to help patients. I have learned that compassion opens doors.

Jesus is God’s Son and I learned this as a child. I learned that I had a faithful mother and grandmother. I learned that prayer is a must in a believer’s life. I learned that bible study is as important as prayer. Beloved, do you have a quiet time? I learned that quiet time with the Lord makes the day go better.

Beloved, I have learned life is short, we need to make the most of each day. God is at work and He invites you to join Him. Will you spend time with Him each day?

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

What is God asking you to learn? Will you join me in having a daily quiet time?

Father God, may we celebrate each day with you. Help us to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with God. Lord, we want to live the days we have honoring you. We want to read your word and praise your Holy name daily. Help each of us be alert to the things you want us to learn, to share and Lord how can we show that we care?  Fill us with your Holy Spirit. Let us learn to do right and seek justice for those who are oppressed. Lord, thank you that you have forgiven me and the women reading this blog. Let us learn everyday, Lord. I have learned that God is merciful, full of grace and love.

There are so many lessons we can learn, in His word…each day I (TRY) to seek His word first thing in the morning…and each day that I do, my day seems to go so much better!
