Five Minute Friday

So Moses went out to meet his

Five Minute Friday- A time to meet with other writers that have written for five minutes on one word. No corrections just free writing.

My heart is full today, I have just returned from an amazing time with my father, Troy Manley, he lives in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. I flew there to meet him and stay with him for ten days. While I was there, I met with my cousins, step-brother, and family friends. The highlight of the trip was traveling to Dodge City, Kansas. Meeting at a childhood friends home, I saw four precious friends. I was able to meet Carol Reynolds, Cathy Fitzsimmons, Sandy Nicolet and Trudy Moreno. My love for these women that I have been friends since I moved to Dodge City when I was seven years old.

When Moses reunited with his father-in-law, Moses shared all that God had done in saving them from the Egyptians. Exodus 18: 6-8

The Visit of Jethro
He sent word to Moses, “I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons with her.” Then Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, and he bowed down and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare and went into the tent. Moses told his father-in-law all that the LORD had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardship that had befallen them on the journey, and how the LORD had delivered them.

My time with my family and friends went quickly but the meetings were sweet as we shared how blessed we are to have each other and how wonderful God is to have given us this gift of meeting one more time.

Such an overlooked aspect to the Exodus story. Moses, Zipporrah and the whole family were real people, coming to terms with being from different backgrounds. Love this post!
