Mercy

Let us therefore come boldly to the

One of God’s amazing attributes is MERCY. In April I will be writing on God’s attributes. Today I am linking up with Suzanne Ellers Live Free page to share on God’s Mercy. She has written several amazing books, I love The Mended Heart and The Unburdened Heart.

When I think of mercy, I think of something undeserved. I found this explanation of mercy in the Blue Letter Bible: “Mercy is when that which is deserved is withheld to the benefit of the object of the mercy. God has demonstrated this attribute in abundance with respect to mankind. We from nearly the beginning of our existence have deserved nothing but wrath; having sinned and fallen short of eternal life in glory, we can do nothing to commend ourselves to or defend ourselves before God. But thankfully, God has been so amazing in His mercy. Over and against merely having the mercy to allow us to live out our miserable lives without destroying us instantly, God has chosen us to greatness and glory by the hand of His Son. The believer finds himself in Christ and enjoys full well the fruits of God’s mercy.”

[Tweet “”Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.” Titus 3:5 “]

I am overwhelmed by God’s Mercy.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a loving hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”  (1 Peter 1:3)

We experience freedom in Christ because of God’s Mercy. Beloved, are you experiencing the fruits of God’s Mercy?

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God.  (Micah 6:8)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”  (Galatians 5:22)

So today, celebrate God’s mercy.  I am unashamed today because of God’s mercy.

“Overwhelmed”

I see the work of Your Hands
Galaxies spin in a Heavenly dance oh God
All that You are is so overwhelmingI hear the sound of Your Voice
All at once it’s a gentle and thundering noise oh God
All that You are is so overwhelming

I delight myself in You
Captivated by Your beauty
I’m overwhelmed, I’m overwhelmed by You

God, I run into Your arms
Unashamed because of mercy
I’m overwhelmed, I’m overwhelmed by You

I know the power of Your Cross
Forgiven and free forever You’ll be my God

All that You’ve done is so overwhelming
I delight myself in You
In the Glory of Your Presence
I’m overwhelmed, I’m overwhelmed by You

God, I run into Your arms
Unashamed because of mercy
I’m overwhelmed, I’m overwhelmed by You

You are Beautiful, You are Beautiful
Oh God, there is no one more Beautiful
You are Beautiful, God you are the most Beautiful

You are Wonderful, You are Wonderful
Oh God, there is no one more Wonderful
You are Wonderful, God You are the most Wonderful

You are Glorious, You are Glorious
Oh God, there is no one more Glorious
You are Glorious, God you are the most Glorious

Father God, thank you for your mercy, your love and your kindness. I am free today because of your love and mercy. Lord I pray that each of us celebrate our freedom, that we recognize we can run into your arms, that each of us can be unashamed because of your mercy.

I will sing of mercy and justice; To you, O lord. I will sing praises. Psalm 101:1
