Father God, I pray that we will not walk in step with the wicked instead LORD I pray Colossians 1:10 so that we may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. I pray that we don’t take part in the way of sinners or be in the company of mockers. Protect us LORD. LORD in Psalm 55:9, 2, 16  confuse the wicked, confound their words, for I see violence and strife in the city. Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me. As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. LORD, our delight is in the law of the Lord, and we meditates on his law day and night. LORD, in Psalm 119:176 says, ” your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to (us) your servant (s). Plant us LORD like a tree planted by a stream of water, that yields fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither–whatever we do we prosper. Lord, in Romans 15:13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill (us) you completely with joy and peace because (we) you trust in him. Then (we) you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Beloved, Psalms written prayers easily applied daily. If I were to break this Psalm down and apply it to my life, I would quickly see that I will receive blessing from the Lord if I do not walk with sinners and sit in the company of mockers. In the Message Bible it says verse one, “How well God must like you–you don’t hang out at Sin Saloon, you don’t slink along Dead-End Road, and you don’t go to Smart-Mouth College.” So how are you doing? Charles Swindol said this week in his sermon I John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” shouldn’t use very often in the Christian’s life because we have the power over sin and we do not have to sin.

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land of your fathers. Deuteronomy 30: 19-20

So how do we protect ourselves from sinners and mockers? In the Message Bible verse 3,

Instead you thrill to God’s Word,

you chew on Scripture day and night.

You’re a tree replanted in Eden,

bearing fresh fruit every month.

Never dropping a leaf,

always in blossom.

The promise from God in verse 6, “God charts the road you take, the road they take is ‘Skid Row.’ Message Bible.  In the NIV it says, ” For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous. but the way of the wicked will perish.”

Beloved, who are you praying for that does not know Jesus in the free pardon of sin? How is your walk with Jesus? Have you taken a spiritual inventory? What is on your nightstand to read? What are the shows you watch on television? Sin can easily creep in do you need to clean the corner cobwebs? Are you caught in the sin-confess-sin-confess?  Remember as Christians we are saints who sometimes sin, we do not have to sin. We have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, listen to his voice and make wise choices.

Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’“The second is this, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”… Mark 29: 29-31

Father God, we love you. In Jesus’ name. Amen

    Hi Diana,
It truly is important to consistently do those inventories. To clean out the cobwebs! They can grow there quite quickly!
    Blessings and smiles,
    Lori
