Five Minute Friday

that you may be children of your Father

Five Minute Friday a time to write for five minutes with no worries about grammar, just free writing and to connect with amazing bloggers.

Go.

Mornings at the Rockwell home were difficult when my boys were at home. Excuses were rampant about why they needed to sleep five more minutes. My patience was often tested until I started to sing to them each morning the song, Rise and ShineThe song is about Noah, God told him to build an arc because the people were evil and He was going to destroy the earth with a flood. It had never rained at this time in history. Noah tried to share the message but in Genesis 7 God closes the door on the ark and the rain came down flooding the earth.

God asks us to rise and shine and give God the glory. How can we do that? The first way is to read His word and pray. Becky Tirabassi is a mentor of mine and she has a 100 day challenge starting in June 3.  Will you join me? The second way is to be available, in the workbook Experiencing God, Henry and Richard Blackaby share that God is at work around you and all you have to do is join Him. Lastly, count your blessings and let those around you know that He is a good God and He deserves all the glory and praise. Praise God from whom all blessings flow and give God the glory, Rise. Blessings.

Stop.

[Tweet “Will you Rise and Shine and give God the Glory?”]

Father God, I pray today for the person reading this blog. I ask that each day each one of us will rise and shine and give God the glory. In James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” God You give us every good gift, You gave us your Son, You gave us the Holy Spirit, You gave us our testimony. Lord let us not be afraid to share our testimony. In Jesus name, Amen.
