Five Minute Fridays

Safe

Five minute Friday a time to write for five minutes on one word and connect with amazing writers.

The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10

We live in the United States of America yet are we safe, schools are no longer safe. This week where I live three places had bomb threats. I remember the first school shooting and how this disrupted our world. There is not much we can do about the threats that are in our worlds. Growing up the first tragedy that rocked my world was President Kennedy being shot. Even then my world still felt safe. Why, because our homes are safe. Growing up in Dodge City, Kansas we didn’t even lock our doors until a drunk from Front Street stumbled into our house, true story. Beloved, what makes you feel safe? A locked door. Safety is a feeling of security that comes from within. I am safe in the arms of Jesus because He is my Good Shepherd and my savior. Psalm 23. John 10. Is he yours?

Diana, how differently we grew up. Your doors were unlocked and ours had several locks as I grew up in the Bronx. And yet, I always felt safe. It is amazing the peace of mind and safety our God brings to our hearts and minds and I am so very grateful He does so. May you have a blessed Sunday!

Yes, you are so right, that our true safety only comes from Jesus! This world is rocking and spinning, but our Shepherd holds us close. Thanks for the good reminder on this Sunday morning! –Blessings!

Hi Diana, these words are so true: ” Safety is a feeling of security that comes from within.” Amen! Blessed to be your neighbour for the #FMF limk up, and to share being a Jesus girl, avid reader, writer, wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse,(though I haven’t been able to pursue my career for years) in common with you. May you have a blessed and restful day! 🙂

Oh yes. I’ve been thinking about the world my future children might someday grow up in. It’s scary. I’m so thankful we are safe in the arms of Jesus!

Oh my goodness we always had locks on our doors growing up and especially now. I can’t believe someone walked in your house. How scary! Yes I feel safe in my home with the doors locked and I feel safe in my Heavenly FAther’s arms. I feel scared for my children growing up in this crazy world but I know they are safe for now and I also know that they are always safe in the arms of Jesus. I just pray that they turn to him. That is my prayer. Blessings to you my friend.
