Directions challenge me, as a home health nurse before GPS, we had Thomas Guides. I’ve been known to try to make the map go the way I am going, so to fix it, I would stop between streets and turn the map until it matched the street signs so I could find my way.

Paul writing to the church shares and asks for prayer, “As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

Sometimes circumstances of life are difficult. For example, you are a professional nurse, you took time off to raise your kids, kids are in college, now you are struggling to find a job.  You suffer daily from migraine headaches, or fibromyalgia, yet you’ve a family to care for and a job responsibilities.

In James 4: 6-8, we read, “But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”  We have to resist the evil one or the devil as he is known. We we resist him, he will flee from you. It is true. I know when I give up sugar, if I can just make it through four days the cravings go away.

In 2 Corinthians 5:14 it says, “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.”

May God’s grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesian 6:24

The Holy Spirit directs us to love Jesus. We love God because he first loved us. Where were you when you accepted Jesus as your savior? In Romans 8: 14-16, we’ve the right to be called the children of God.

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

We don’t need a road map, a Thomas Guide or a GPS or a NAVIGATOR, we have the Holy Spirit that directs our hearts to love God and to persevere in that love. We persevere in that love in a daily walk through prayer and bible reading.

Beloved, will you let God direct your heart to love Jesus and persevere in your relationship with God?

Life Lesson: God directs our loving hearts through the Holy Spirit.

    Song: Holy Spirit

Father God, thank you that you direct our hearts  into God’s love and into perseverance. Thank you for caring for each one of us, Lord your word is truth. Thank you for your mercy and grace. Thank you that your love compels us to be better women. Help us to draw close to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen
