1 Peter 5:7

    Look at the Lilies

I Peter 5:7 says to, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” Not some of your worries but ALL of your worries. God gives us a beautiful picture in Luke 12: 27-29, “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.”

Beloved, what are some of the things you worry about? Dr. David Jeremiah shares that instead of worrying we need to share our concerns. Worry only leads to anxiety.

Is your health a concern? He is a healer. In Mark 2, Jesus heals the paralytic. In Luke 5, Jesus heals the man with leprosy. In Mark 5, Jesus heals the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years whose faith was such that just touching his robe was enough. I am always touched by this story because of the hope it gives. I have long-term illness and no healing to date for the migraines. Yet in his timing we come to the foot of the cross and leave our worries.

Is your relationship a concern?  Struggling for many years in my marriage I learned to walk in forgiveness. On the brink of divorce, I gave up and gave my marriage to God. We separated for four months, the “grass was not greener on the other side of the fence.’ My oldest son had decided to stay with his dad and may I just be honest, it was more painful to be away from both than to be with be with them so we reunited. Forgive and leave your worry at the foot of the cross.

Do you have a wayward child? An adult son or daughter who is seeking after the Lord, a child with ADD, ADHD, or  Autism. Struggling with a child with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder times were difficult. We didn’t know much about the diagnosis and made our mistakes. He became depressed. Can you relate? I really admire those that are home schooling.

Financial concerns? Beloved the list could go on. Daily we have the beauty of God’s creation to remind us to cast our burdens on Jesus and our anxiety on Jesus. Psalm 94:19 says, “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.”

Jesus says, “Take heart because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Father God, I give you my heart. I ask for peace for those that are burdened with worry. You are the alpha the omega the beginning the end and let me not forget that you are the solution to my problems. I can trust you with all my problems. Lord I pray for the woman who is having financial problems let her have enough money for the month. Lord for the mom who is struggling trying to home school and be the perfect mom, who loses her patience, she just needs an extra measure of your love. To believe how special she is in your eyes. Lord as you healed the woman and the man with leprosy from the inside out, heal us from the inside out, free us from spiritual blindness and pain. In Jesus’ name. Amen
