Worship’s definition as a verb show reverence and adoration for (a deity); honor with religious rites. As a noun the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity. Entering church preparing to worship our God, hands open to receive blessings from worshiping His Holy Name. Worship a time of prayer, a time of singing, a time to declare our love, our needs, our dependence on a most Holy God. In church, hands lifted, swaying to the music, quiet dancing, signing the song for those who do not hear, worshiping from our heart.

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24

What happens when we interrupt worship by sin? Sometimes we get messed up and worship the wrong things in our lives. We worship our careers, a person, or the next diet. We are to busy to worship God, our priorities get mixed up. We have idols in our lives that have moved in and crowded out worship. Beloved, what are you worshiping that is not worthy to worship? Struggles often pull you in different directions and separate you from your routine. My routine is to praise and worship God first in the morning but let there be an upset and me be on Plan B, praise and worship may not happen. Yet,  [Tweet “Praise and worship are the antidote to stress and struggles.”]

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

    1 John 1:8-10

As a society, many worship many things, our looks, our bank accounts, and our homes; but the only one that deserves our worship is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. When we worship the one true God, we enter His presence. When we celebrate who we are in Christ, redemption occurs When we renounce the lies of Satan, announce the truth, fear no more. When we draw close to God, He draws near to us. When we read God’s word and apply His truth, hope is reborn. When we trust and obey, God blesses each one of us. When we have Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are free yes free indeed. All we have to do is worship the one true King, The King of Glory.

For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,  1 Thessalonians 1:9

As Calvin Coolidge says in his quote, we grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ when we worship God.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

Beloved, will you make worship a habit?
