So with a play on the word we serve an X-Cellent God. We need to praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness according to Psalm 150:2. God is the alpha, the omega, the beginning, the end. He created the universe. He created you and me.

Have you every heard these word you’re an excellent cook, you’re an excellent photographer, or you’re an excellent nurse?

“Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.”

    1 Timothy 3:13

I love the verses in Hebrews 1: 3-5 that show the excellence of God.

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. For to which of the angels did He ever say, “YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU”? And again, “I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME”?…”

God is an excellent God that loves with an excellent love. He gives us eternal life when we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior. Mercy, and grace are more of his excellent gifts.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

Beloved, God is good all the time and all the time is good.

We do serve a X-Cellent God. What ways have you seen God’s X-Cellence this week?
