2 Corithians 7:4

    Gratitude

    Hopelessly Devoted

    Father God !

When I pray to God either verbally or through my writing, I address God as Father God. In Romans 8: 14-15, For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”  My earthly father is still alive and I call him Daddy and that is what Abba means. Our Father God is our Daddy. Because He is our Daddy we can have an intimate relationship with Him. Sometimes if your relationship’s strained with your earthly father, probably it’s hard for you to relate to our heavenly father.

If your father was distant and disinterested God is intimate and involved.

You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.…Psalm 139:2

If your father was insensitive and uncaring God in kind and compassionate.

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. Psalm 103:8

If your father was stern, demanding, passive, and cold, God is accepting, filled with joy and love, warm, and affectionate.

The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. Isaiah 40:11

If your father was mean, cruel or abusive God is loving, gentle and protective.

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. Jeremiah 31:3

If your father was controlling, manipulative, condemning, and unforgiving God is full of grace and mercy, gives us freedom, tender-hearted and forgiving.

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16

If your father was a nit-picking, demanding perfectionist God is committed to our growth and proud of us as His beloved children.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren Romans 8: 28-29

Beloved, this is from the Steps to Freedom. Neil Anderson has some amazing books Victory Over Darkness, The Bondage Breaker, and of course The Steps to Freedom.

I could tell you countless stories of the lives of the women that I have led through the Steps but none are any more profound than mine, when I entered the room three women were waiting. I knew my encourager and the other two were prayer partners.  The Holy Spirit bonded us together. I prayed through the Steps To Freedom by Neil Anderson.  Step One was my experiences with Non-Christian Spiritual things such as the Ouija board and the nagging thoughts that plagued me daily. Step two I renounced the ways I had been deceived by the world and ways I had defended myself not relying on God. Beloved, Step three was the hardest. Forgiveness, oh trust me it was gut wrenching. Tears flowed. I waited to forgive the two that were the hardest until the last and I broke into sobs. I didn’t want to forgive, they didn’t deserve my forgiveness. I had been hurt so badly. The words I said, I choose to forgive_______ for __________and it made me feel______________.  The core of the emotions I was so angry, sad, hurt, and mad.  I kept remembering Jesus forgave me so I had to do this.  Step four rebellion verses submission. Step five was pride versus humility. Step six was another difficult step bondage versus freedom dealing with habitual sins and sexual sins. Step seven was curses verses blessings. From this three-hour appointment the results were my marriage saved and I am who I am today because of my appointment in November 1995.

Beloved, Father God loves you, do you believe that He is committed and involved to your growth? He is your Daddy.

I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds. 2 Corinthians 7:4
