    Psalm Sunday

    stress less peace

The Psalms refresh my soul. When I am sad, I find refreshing strength in the words of Psalms. When I am hopeless, I find hope. When I am desperate, I find delight. When I am angry, I find salve for my wounds. When I am feeling loveless, I find acceptance. When I feel ugly, I find I am fearfully and wonderfully made. When I am joyless, I find joy.

In the Life Application Bible on page 932, the Psalms speak to God or about God. The Psalms are written by different authors such as King David, Moses, and Jeremiah, and in different situations, the Psalms say many things of God’s character.

    Spirit
    (Psalm 104, 139, 143)

This morning impressed from the Lord, I will write as the Spirit leads from a Psalm on Sunday. Let’s see where God takes us on this adventure. Today we will explore the shortest psalm, Psalm 117.

Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all people!  For great is his steadfast love toward us; and the faithfulness of the Lord endures for ever. Praise the Lord!

This Psalm is similar to Lamentations 3: 22-24. There is a song about His steadfast love. If you click on the word steadfast above you can hear the song. We know God is faithful.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”

Praise is so important in my life. Praise renews my hope in the Lord. Praise lifts my spirits. Praise keeps me calm. Praise encourages positiveness even when I am in pain or filled with fear and doubt. “Act as if” are three words along with “put one foot in front of the other and keep going’ that applies to me. Beloved, remember we are with God when we praise God.  Do you believe that God’s mercies are new every morning? God is faithful, He is your portion, we need nothing more than Him. He is our Anchor, our Hope, our Everlasting Merciful God. Lastly we are going to SOAR on wings of Eagles because He is our Hope.
