    Today on Insight for Living, Charles Swindoll speaking on Isaiah 6: 1-9a

    Isaiah’s Commission

    1In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.2Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3And they were calling to one another:

    “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;

    the whole earth is full of his glory.”

    4At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

    5“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

    6Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

    8Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

    And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

    9He said, “Go and tell this people:

    This morning Pastor Swindoll opened my eyes to the word AWESOME, to how misused it is. He spoke that there are four things we need to know and the first one from this passage is that God is awesome and Holy. God is the only one that is awesome and He is Holy. We misuse this word when we use it to describe the outfit we are wearing or the desert we are eating or the sunset we just saw. Awesome and Holiness are the attributes to describe our God. I wish I could drive and take notes but I know one can hear his message on the his website. Insight Living. The sermon was “What Every Believer Must Not Forget,”  I will share what are the other three things in later posts as he preaches the other sermons.

    Father God, forgive me for taking the word awesome so lightly, when it equates to the holiness of your name. You are the most awesome and holy God. I am in awe of your majesty. Thank you for your gift of life and your son who gave his life so I might have eternal life. Thank you for your word. In Jesus’ name. Amen

    Beloved, have you said to God here am I send me? Our God Is an Awesome God.   This is one of my favorite songs.
