    Living Fully for Today

    Beautiful seascape. Composition of nature.

Linking up with Suzanne Eller Live Free Thursday. Live Fully for today.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

While attending Overeater’s Anonymous, we always said the serenity prayer and lived in the present day making the most of the current day. One day at a time, sometimes it was one minute at a time, or one bite at a time. How does one live fully for today?

Just like when one follows a recipe for a great desert I would like to think if we follow Jesus we live life fully for today.

One needs to know Jesus never changes, in Hebrews 13:8 we read, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”  The fact that Jesus does not change we can count on him.

He promises to never leave us. In I Kings 8:57, “May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us.”  This promise should give us assurance to live fully in peace today.

Jesus prays for us in John 17:17 that we be sanctified set apart for God and His holy purposes. And he sends us into the world giving us a mission in verse 18. Jesus in verse 24 says, “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” He prays for us. So that gives me reason to live fully for today.

Lastly, as C. S Lewis says, ” We are never to old to set a new goal or a new dream or dream a new dream.”

Beloved, what is your new goal or dream as you live your live fully today? Thanks for joining me.

Father God, Thank you for today. I love you Lord. Help me and my beloved readers to live life fully one day at a time. I am praising you that Jesus is the same he never changes. I praise you for the Holy Spirit that I can count on and I can feel his presence daily. Thank you for your love and for calling me daughter. Thank you for the hope I have today. Lord, if there is one reading this that is feeling helpless, I want to lend her my hope. If one is struggling, send someone to her, or have her get in contact with me. Lord thank you that because of Jesus we can live today fully. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
