Who named you ? Who are you named after? My dad is named after his father, his father is Troy Amos Manley, he is Edward Troy. My brother is Dale Edward Manley and my dad named me. I am Diana Gail Manley, Gail rhymes with Dale. My mother wanted to name me Lisa but the song about Mona Lisa was popular so my Grandmother and my dad named me after the goddess in the Bible.

God told Joseph and Mary to name Jesus and he’s know as the Son of God. Beloved, belief in the Son of God gives us eternal life.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17

Do you have nick names or are you called by another name? My niece and nephews know me as Aunt DD and my grandchildren call me Grandma. Jesus has many names such as Alpha and Omega, Christ, Immanuel, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Light of the World, Morning Star, Prince of Peace, Anointed One, The Way, Wonderful Counselor, Bread of Life, Cornerstone, Messiah, Teacher, The Truth, The Word of God, Lamb of God, Savior and there are many more.

More importantly have you accepted Jesus as your Savior? Have you admitted you are a sinner? In Romans 3:22-24 it says, And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.  Then Romans 6:22-23, “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the fruit you reap leads to holiness, and the outcome is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  

Oh beloved, I pray that you know Jesus in the free pardon of sin. If there is any question in your heart, pray this prayer: Or if you want to rededicate you life to Jesus.

Father God, I know I have sinned, I have done so many things I have been angry, I have yelled at my kids, I have lied, I have promised to pray and not prayed, I have been jealous, as a child I stole things from the store. I have cheated on my school work.I know I was not the best parent I could be, Lord, I made some seriously wrong choices when I did not go to church, I have not always been a witness for you. I believe that Jesus Christ is your Son that he was born of a virgin and that he never sinned, I believe that he died on the cross taking and paying for all of my sins and that I can confess my sins and that I do not have to keep on sinning. That I can submit to God, resist the devil, he will flee from me, and I can draw near to you and you will draw near to me. I ask you to be my Lord and Savior/or I rededicate my life to you. Let them know Lord Romans 10:13, For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

So many call my name Diane, but in John 10:14, I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— God knows my name is Diana.

Life Lesson: We need Jesus so we have eternal life.

Father God, thank you for Jesus, and for the power that is in his name. Thank you for his willingness to die on the cross. We know how difficult it was for him. I love that song that says I was on his mind, I know my sins were on his back as he took the beating. Lord, daily as we pray and seek your face, help us  to be faithful. Lord, if there is someone who needs you as their savior, please send the Holy Spirit to convict them to pray the prayer. Father God, I love you and I pray that you help each of us be who you want us to be.  In Jesus’ name. Amen
