Seeing this sign sure makes me think, “Heaven is real, do you have your reservations?” How about you? I’ve been focusing on light, promised to write on being light in the community. This is the night before our election. Our job is to vote. Regardless of who you are voting for the primary thing to do before our election day ends is vote. The Lord will be your everlasting light and your God will be your glory. Beloved, in heaven God is the God and Jesus is the PRESIDENT.

David Jeremiah on Sunday shares about heaven. In John 14: 1-3 we read, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in Goda ; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

My mother-in-law just passed away and my desire is to tell everyone about Jesus Christ. Beloved, in Psalm 90 Moses writes a beautiful psalm of time and life, in verse 10, he says, “Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; then in 12, “”Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” God has the number of hairs on our heads counted and our days numbers that we are to live. He even knows when He will send Jesus the King of Light to come and get us. It will happen in the twinkle of an eye.

I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

“Where, O death, is your victory?

Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15: 50-58

I’ve to admit that sometimes I did not share the good news of Jesus Christ but this year I’ve shared at least three times and have had two people accept Christ. When I think of one of them it brings tears to my eyes, I was not scheduled to work, he did not have long to live. I volunteer for the shift working a double. Normally, this patient would not be at the hospital because he is hospice but his pain’s not controlled, I’m the light God plans to use. As I walk in his room, I meet this wonderful man, he has no family locally, I realize he is not safe to return home. I gather his history. Sharing with the physician that we can’t release him to return to his home. Reentering his room, I share I’m his advocate, he sighs and then we talk, really talk. I ask the all important question, about faith, he prays to accept Christ, then another bonus to forgive his ex-wife.

Heaven is real. I have my reservations. My patient that evening made his reservation. Although I will have to wait to see him, the same way I will see my mother-in-law, the question is do you have your reservations?

Beloved, who can you tell about Christ? Do you know your testimony well enough to share? Do you have a tag line to introduce Christ? How about Heaven is real, do you have your reservations? And then have a few verses memorized to lead them to Christ. Will you be a light in your community? Be a Good Citizen.

Life Lesson: Jesus is the President of the world.
