    Read Ezekiel 34

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you.… John 15: 12-14

We love God because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19  Have you ever thought about this statement that we are capable of loving because of God? We are able to love because God first loved us. He commands us to love one another as he loves us. Do you remember in grade school the little note cards that we traded that showed we cared? I would take mine home and read them over and over again. We have a Bible that is his love message to us and the Bible when we read it and share it with others it is a way of God speaking to us and for us to hear his voice. In 1 John 4:18, it says, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. Jesus and God are perfect love.

We have perfect love from Jesus on Valentine’s Day. He is the good shepherd. Studying with Lysa TerKeurst, her book, Finding I Am: How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of Your Heart, in Chapter 3, we focus on I Am The Gate For The Sheep and I Am The Good Shepherd. If you have time to read Ezekiel 34, it goes in to depth what the shepherd does for the sheep. Beloved, we are the sheep, have you been lost? scattered? needing rescue? perhaps this Valentine’s Day will be one of restoration and redemption. Jesus’ love is unconditional once Jesus is your Savior. 1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins he is faithful to forgive us our sins. Beloved, He blesses us.

Daily Challenge: Write a thank you note to God about how much you love him.
