But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” John 4:14

Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well challenges her to a greater faith. She accepts the challenge and then gives her faith away. The woman with the issue of blood reaches out and touches Jesus and Jesus feels his healing strength leave his body, he asks, who touch me? “I did,” she said.  Can you imagine her testimony?

What about Paul and Silas in Acts chapter 16, put in jail for healing a woman who could foretell the future and she taunted Paul and Silas? Paul . “heals her of the evil spirit, his reward jail. While there Paul and Silas praise God and a great earthquake shakes so hard that their chains fall off, they are free to escape. The jailer awakens, seeing this prepares to kill himself but Paul reassured him that they are present. The jailer ask, What must I do to be saved.”

What are you giving away in your life? I just recently cleaned out my closet. I was able to give to three friends and many clothes to Good Will.

I have a book ministry and I just finished giving Hope Prevails: A Doctor’s Personal Journey through  Depression. I love to give book to women who can’t afford them. This ministry started with a study with Suzanne Eller’s The Mended Heart. Since then the ministry is such if one can not afford a book, I give the book.

I am quick to share my hope and love, I love to give away my love. I am a nurse so it is natural for me to be nurturing. It is better to give than to receive.

God instilled within me a very generous heart. Sometimes my heart is too big, but can we really out give God.

In Exodus 6:8 we see God bringing the Israelites and giving them the land. “I will bring you into the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as your very own possession. I am the LORD!'”

I love this when God gives us a new heart in Ezekiel 36:26, “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.”

What about Elijah who met with the widow and her son. She did not run out of oil and water as long as she served Elijah.

Today, beloved, what are you willing to give away?  your time, money, your talents.
