    S- I rejoice in following your statues as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. NIV

    O- My first observation is the word rejoice is listed twice in verse 14. I immediately think of the verse and chorus, “Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice.”  There is happiness in following God’s word. Statues and precepts are words for God’s word. Statues and precepts making one rich. His word is better than gold. Gold makes you rich God words makes you richer. Meditate to think about, and then to think again, to let it soak in. Pray can be meditating on God’s word. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things. Phil 4:8  We are to consider God’s word and His ways.

    A   What is God doing in your life that causes you to rejoice? How often are you reading God’s word? Our memory verse is Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. How can thinking and considering God’s word make improve your situation in your life?

    P Father God, I am humbled when I consider all you have done for me. I am in awe of your majesty, your plan for my life. I am rejoicing because the word of God is alive and active. Your statues are sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. Lord as I consider your word and how you are working in my life I rejoice.

    Beloved, my heart rejoices when I think about you reading and applying God’s word.  Several years ago, Bible Study Fellowship trained me to be a discussion leader. Part of the preparation was reading the scripture, writing out homiletics, answering questions in the lesson, and then leading the group. Part of the reason I love this study is that each one of us is reading the same scripture and yet God through the Holy Spirit allows each of us to come up with different observations and applications. Lets us rejoice in the Lord and what He is going to do through this study. Beloved, would you identify several goals you would like to achieve in the eight weeks of this study?
