    Table

Now even the first covenant had regulations of divine worship and the earthly sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle prepared, the outer one, in which were the lamp stand and the table and the sacred bread; this is called the holy place.Behind the second veil there was a tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies. Hebrews 9: 1-3

As a child, we ate at the table as a family. How about you? Some of my fondest memories as a child occur around our table. Playing Monopoly and the game would last forever. My mom let me make a tent under the table in the kitchen. I learned to sew at that kitchen table. If that table could talk, the secrets, the tears, the laughter that is shared around a table.

In the Old Testament, there was a tabernacle for divine worship. The outer tabernacle had a lamp stand and a table that held the sacred bread, this was called the holy place. Behind the second veil there was tabernacle which is the Holy of Holies.  When Jesus died on the cross, the veil was torn in the earthquake from the top to the bottom.  Mark 15: 37-39

And Jesus uttered a loud cry, and breathed His last. And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. When the centurion, who was standing right in front of Him, saw the way He breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”…

Jesus allows us to approach him in the holiest of holy relationships.  Jesus is the mediator between man and God.  Beloved, if you have Jesus as your savior you do not need a mediator. You can just talk to Jesus.

One other thing a table is good for is having and doing Bible Studies. For example, Love God Greatly will train you to lead a group. We are participating in The Names of God right now. So many studies available.

Beloved, what are your childhood memories around the table? What is the happiest memory around your table?
