October 30, 2015 my husband had his left knee replaced. As you know, I am a nurse so one would think he has a great caregiver. However, if truth be told, I think I am kinder to others that I am to the ones I love and providing care. Okay, I am melodramatic. Really I am not Nurse Ratched.

Some of the experiences this week, we have a grade to climb to come home to Ramona. Driving him home, he asks if I have people following me which I did, when I turned on Haverford, he asked me to slow down, he became nauseous. The first shower I wanted him to have a hot shower, little did I know that running the water while he was getting ready to get into the shower would leave him with cold water for washing his head. Have I told you how logical my husband is? How logical is your husband? My husband is so logical that he never loses his keys. Do you know how aggravating it is to live with a logical husband? On top of that a logical husband that is recovering from surgery. He loves to lecture me and I am biting my tongue.

Whispers from God says “This too shall pass.” ‘Honor your husband.” “Serve Him and you are really serving me.

“Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’“Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ “These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25: 44-46

Father God, I still have five more weeks to go as a caregiver. I have to return to work at the end of the week. My energy level is low. Lord, I ask that I not respond in my humanness. But I respond as Jesus would respond. Thank you for bringing my husband through surgery. For the women reading this whisper love into their lives as you have mine. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus name. Amen.

Beloved, what is God whispering to you, today?
