Matthew 6

    One Word 2017

Focus is my word for 2017

What lingers in your life that you still need to change? I still struggle with procrastination, worry, jealousy, timeliness and comparison. I am not quite sure why I compare myself to others, why I worry about things that are out of my control, why  do I procrastinate, or put off doing things so there is a time crunch, and why I am jealous when I am worthy of love. But in my human form, I am flawed. Psalm 139:14 says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

So for 2017, my word that the Lord has given me is FOCUS.

I am a Faithful, Obedient, Called, Unswerving, Servant. So much to focus on but really has to do with the message in Matthew 6 on prayer,  and to not worry but to seek God’s Kingdom first.

Will you pray for your direction from God and see what your word this new year will be? You can join communities that have the same word if you want some encouragement. They create fear and destroy your peace.”

So I need to change some things like worry, jealousy, procrastination, prayer, timeliness and comparing myself to others. I am a work in progress. In 2017, when I focus on Christ and His word and not on me, I will change. Change my heart oh God, make it ever true, change my heart oh God. May I be like you.

    Beloved, what is your word?
