Psalm 23

    Thankful to be Thankful-11

    Our really good friends had moved to Walker, California. We used to do everything with Pam and Rocky. Our children were a year younger than theirs. We had celebrated holidays together, birthdays, and Pam babysits my children while I worked so when they moved away it created a crater in our lives. So as soon as we could, we made a trip up to Walker to visit them, we went on vacation. We made our first stop and discovered we were going to have to buy our youngest new shoes as he didn’t bring his shoes. Then while in Walker, the house was so cold. But the reunion was sweet.

    Beloved, today Doug and I are thankful for rest. For a vacation, we left my dad’s house this morning and drove to Mansfield, Missouri. We’re visiting my nephew’s farm. But we are close to where the writer Laura Ingalls Little House on the Praire lived and Branson, Missouri.

    I am looking forward to walking, to reading, to writing on this little vacation. When was your last vacation? What did you do on your vacation?

    I was thinking how perfect Psalm 23 is on vacation.

    1The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

    2He makes me lie down in green pastures,

    he leads me beside quiet waters,

    3he refreshes my soul.

    He guides me along the right paths

    for his name’s sake.

    4Even though I walk

    through the darkest valley,a

    I will fear no evil,

    for you are with me;

    your rod and your staff,

    they comfort me.

    5You prepare a table before me

    in the presence of my enemies.

    You anoint my head with oil;

    my cup overflows.

    6Surely your goodness and love will follow me

    all the days of my life,

    and I will dwell in the house of the Lord

    forever.

    Beloved, we have nothing but goodness from God. Blessings Diana
