Romans 3:23

    Thankful to be Thankful-4 & 5

“Count your blessings name them one by one, count your blessings see what God has done, count your blessings name them one by one.” I’ve sung this song so many times that when I am having trouble sleeping instead of counting sheep, I will count blessings. When asked, how I am? I respond, “I’m blessed.” This morning as I went on my walk, I recounted my blessings.

This morning we went to church at a church that my dad has preached at, he is well-respected there, well-loved, and well-known. Amazingly the pastor spoke in John 3 about being born-again. Where would we be if we did not have that choice? We would be destined for eternal separation. Do you know someone who is not born-again?

Today, I am thankful I have Jesus as my savior. I am thankful that I was raised in a Christian home. I know being raised in a Christian home does not guarantee a place in heaven. Each person has to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” So we are all sinners. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Oh, how I am thankful, that God gave his Son so that I would have eternal life.

Beloved, I am thankful to you, that we have a reason to praise and thank God this weekend for our salvation. Thankful for heaven. I am thankful for my father.

When I count my blessings I start with you. I may never meet you but I find comfort knowing that you read my words. Nicodemus came to Jesus at night asking questions, seeking the only one who can answer the question about being born-again. No matter when you come to Jesus, he has the answers. He is the way, the truth, and the life. I am thankful for you.

Father God, I praise you that you gave us your Son to die on the cross for each one of us. That through Him we have redemption and we’re redeemed and renewed. We received eternal life. I praise you for this.

What do you need to do to be born-again?
