THRIVE

My word this year has been “THRIVE.”

I love to do acrostic, an acrostic is a number of lines of writings such as a poem. However, I like to then find a verse that has the word. This is the first year I have chosen a word to help focus my life. I work as a nurse and the organization I work for has chosen THRIVE for their campaign for the employees.

How does one THRIVE?

T= TRUST: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

H=HOLY: Romans 12:1 I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

R=RENEWING: Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

I= INSPIRED: 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God, and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.

V= VIRTUE: Proverbs 31:10 An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.

E=EXCEL: Proverbs 31:29 Many daughters have done nobly. But you excel them all.

I want to not just live, I want to THRIVE. God has given us the ability to not just live but to THRIVE. When we trust in the Lord daily, when we present our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, when we renew our minds on a daily basis, when we are reading  God’s word we are inspired and are virtuous and live excellent lives for God.

Each day, to THRIVE is loving and living in the presence of God. As a daughter of the King, I journal my prayers,  Daily I am excited to see who God will bring into my life. At the end of my life, I want to hear from Jesus, “Well done good and faithful servant.”

The secret is in Philippians 4:8, “Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is and excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.

What do you need to do to start THRIVING? daily Bible reading, daily praying, daily recognizing who you are in Christ, daily renounce any lies you may be believing.

If you were to chose a word to help focus your relationship with God, what would be your word?

Father God, I am in awe of your mercy and your love. Great is your faithfulness. I know when I get caught up in the mundane and I let worry and anxiety invade my thoughts, I am not thriving. I know when I get caught up in gossip at work, I am not thriving. I know when I get caught up rushing through the day without consulting you, I am not thriving. Today Lord, let me THRIVE for you, let my words, let my actions, let my deeds honor you. For the woman, reading this who is struggling, surround her with your love. Lord, I ask that you bless each person who might read this so that she will thrive in her relationship with you. Blessings..Diana

Oh I just love this, you are such an inspiration to me…you really are. I’m trying to think of what my word would be based on the happenings of this year so far and I think it would have to be trust. So much has gone on in my family this year; arguments, judging, jealousy…the list goes on. I’ve had to really trust God to hold me up, and now taking care of grandma after her surgery…trust in all I have and everything I have. I like what you did with the acrostic and using scripture verses (love that). I’m going to use trust and do that too. Thanks for the inspiration and keep on writing. You are truly a blessing. Love ya lots and God bless you.
