Most of us are familiar with chapter three of Ecclesiastes, this chapter is known for the contrast on time.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1

This morning,  writing scripture  as part of my devotion time, the question in verse 9, “What gain has the worker from his toil?” popped off the page. The paragraph header is The God Given Task.  Solomon is writing and in the next verse he says, “I have seen the business that God has given to man to be busy with God so I applied that to myself today and he has given me many hats to wear. I am wife, mother, grandmother, daughter-in-law, nurse, encourager and writer. Beloved, what are some of  your talents, or hats that only you can do? Is there something else you would like to do? Is there a dream that you have that you have not told anyone or a desire that God has given you but you are afraid to pursue.

Beloved, according to verse eleven, God put eternity in your heart. Do you know that He makes every thing beautiful in His time? It is better for joyfulness and to do good.

Beloved remember God is good all the time and all the time He is good.  In verse 13, we are to take pleasure in our toil because…….

also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God’s gift to man. Ecclesiastes 3: 13

Father God, Thank you for this fresh look at work, thank you for equipping me for the work that you designed me to do. Lord I pray for my sisters that are reading these words and I ask that if they need work you open up opportunities for each person where they are most talented. Lord help us with joyfulness when we are sad, help us with peace when we are stressing. Lord, help each one of us with thankfulness. Lord you make everything beautiful in your time, help us to not run ahead of you. In Jesus name Amen.

God does give us each hats to wear. I used Ecclesiastes 3 in my post too. Visiting from FMF where I’m in the #11 spot.
