Tuesday at Ten: Hope

Hope- Healing, Optimistic, Promise, Eternity

We have hope in the one who is the author of hope. God created Adam and Eve physically and spiritually alive. They were intimate with God and had the feeling of Hope. Hope came from belonging and being safe and secure. All of their needs were met, they were naked and they felt no shame. However, in Genesis 3, and we all know that Eve gave the fruit to Adam from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.  Satan was powerful and he created doubt about God. In the book by Neil Anderson, The Victory Over Darkness, Adam and Eve lost their intimate relationship with God. They spiritually died when they listened to the evil one. They hid from God, they knew they were naked and felt shame. How does one hide from an omnipresent God? They lost their true knowledge of God according to Mr. Anderson.

GOD must have been disappointed but He had a plan. Even though sin entered the world, there was a redemption plan and that was when the last Adam was born, Jesus. Jesus is the only other person born physically and spiritually alive and though he was tempted, Jesus never did sin. So when he died on the cross he bore the burden of all our sins. But when Jesus arose from the dead, redemption occurs for those of us who believe in Jesus Christ.

We have hope, because of Jesus we are healed of our faulty thinking. We are optimistic because we have hope that we are saints who sometimes sin. We have his promise that we will be with Jesus for eternity.

FATHER GOD! Thank you for our eternal hope in you. Thank you for the promises in your word. Thank you that we are your children. Blessings.
