Wait

Linking with Tuesday at Ten

“But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” Micah 7:7

My writing partner is Tory, a West Highlander Terrier. At this moment, she insists on sitting right next to me as I write. Tory loves her food, she dances, twirls, insisting on her part of food yesterday, so hard to control her instincts. She will sit up, roll over, all for a cookie. So, my husband teaches her to wait for breakfast and supper. She sits and waits as she hears the word, “wait” she will glance up at your mouth through her beautiful eyes lashes, she hears “wait!” then the long awaited word, she hears, “OK!” The food is history.

Waiting for me so difficult. Standing in line is the worst, I want another checker called. Waiting for Christmas to arrive is so hard. Being placed on hold is aggravating can you relate?

What are you waiting? Perhaps you are single and you are looking for a mate, you are waiting on a test result, to find the right job, or for a baby?  Praying and asking God for your requests boils down to answers, sometimes the answers are yes, or no or wait.

The Lord is My Salvation
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD.  Psalm 27: 13-14

When I lack patience, I need to remember that God is author of goodness, He will answer in His timing. Thankfulness a key in waiting, a person is thankful in one’s circumstances. How can you be thankful that you do not have a job? I know how hard it is to make money stretch perhaps being thankful that you have your health to look for a job while you are in the waiting room waiting for God to find the right job for you. Another key is to keep asking, in James 4:2 it says, ” You want but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.”  Lastly, when we wait, we need to draw near to God and he will come near to us.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8

Just as we taught Tory to wait for her food, with God we need to cleanse our hands, purify our hearts, never be double-minded, seek God with all of our hearts. Filled with the Holy Spirit He guides us as we wait, so we know which way to walk some time it is one step, some time it is a jog, some time it is a run because beloved when we wait for God he renews out strength. We need to be sure and ask with the right motive, nothing out of selfishness. Jesus wants what is best so perhaps that is why we wait.

Here is Your God!
Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:30-31

Beloved, God is good. What ever you are waiting on will you renew you request after you look at heart?

Such a timely post. I am and have been in a “waiting” period. It is extremely difficult to remain postive and remember He has perfect timing. I struggle with those ideas daily. Thank you for sharing your heart in these words, Diana. ❤

Amen! Sometimes it is so hard to remember to be patient and just wait on His answer. I waited for 12 years on one request, talk about patience! 🙂 But in the end, He worked it out for the good of all involved. 🙂 <3
