Father God !

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Philippians 2: 1-5a

Listening to a sermon from Charles Swindoll on attitudes these verses struck me. There are four if statements. 1. If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ. 2. If you have any comfort from his love. 3. If any common sharing in the Holy Spirit. 4. If any tenderness and compassion.  Drum Roll   Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.

So we are:

1. to do nothing out of selfish ambition.

2. to value others above ourselves.

3. to not look to our own interests but to the interest of others.

4. to have same mindset as Christ.

Beloved, my heart convicted because my attitude isn’t always so great. I want to pray that pray to make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind with Christ. I am good with valuing others and I need to work on having the same mindset of Christ.

Father God, Make my joy complete in you. Improve my attitude. Let me be like-minded, joy-filled, spirit-lead, one in spirit always aware  that the Holy SPirit is working. Help me to value others. Help me to pray for others. Give me the peace that I need when I am so concerned about my family and friends. Grant travel mercies to those traveling. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

I too could improve my attitude from time to time. I learned this week that wisdom requires patience. We must not react immediately to emotion but step back, and wait. I must work on my waiting attitude – God teaches us much when we are still, doesn’t He? Thank you so much for this today!

Dear Carrie, Waiting is hard to do. I like what you are saying that wisdom requires patience. You are such a blessing to me. Diana
