Five Minute Fridays

Which path are you traveling?

The path of the righteous is level; you, the Upright One, make the way of the righteous smooth. Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, awe wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. Isaiah 26: 7-9

In the above verse the path of the righteous is level, in Matthew 7:13 the gate is narrow, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.”  Isaiah 30:21 says, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”  Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

So whatever path you are on are you listening to God? Have you chosen the narrow gate? He will direct your path. We may think the wide gate is the answer but have you ever entered the wide gate and known that you made the wrong choice. College all-consuming of my time, the rationalization is the couple of hours on Sunday morning that it took to go to church could be devoted to studying and one Sunday turned in to two to three and soon I wasn’t going to church, the last semester before I graduated with my Associates Degree in Nursing. The path brought much grief in my life. Find the level path, the narrow gate.

Beloved, tell about a time you have been on a wrong path? What did you do to get on the right path?

This is the recipe to finding the narrow path.

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4: 7-8a

Hi there! I’m stopping over from FMF. I’ve recently finished the War Room study with other ladies at my church. And one thing I’ve begun doing is praying God’s Word and making it personal. I’ll be adding those verses from Isaiah 26 to my list of verses in my prayer journal. Thanks for sharing them.
