Whisper Yes

Suzanne Eller ‘s writing prompt this week “Whisper Yes.” Most weeks I write what I am hearing God whispering to me. Driving to work I listen to Charles Swindoll’s radio program Insight for Living, this week he focused on walking with the Lord and how when we are children we grow and mature and when we accept Christ, we need to grow and mature in Christ.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a (woman) man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 1 Corinthians 13:11

How does one put the ways of childhood behind one? As I was listening to the sermons, some things as a child we do not want to stop doing such as trusting God. Children trust God and accept Christ easier than adults. According to Swindoll, there are many children that come to know Jesus as their Savior at the age of four.

We mature in Christ by reading God’s word, going to church, listening to sermons, and praying. This week I said yes to God because I had a friend and I needed to pray as I have never prayed before for this friend. Have you ever prayer the scripture for someone, it is a beautiful way to pray? Try this scripture.

but ________ who hope(s) in the LORD will renew (her/his) strength. _____will soar on wings like eagles; (she/he) will run and not grow weary, (she/he) will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Have you ever said this, “I feel so helpless, all I can do is pray?” Beloved, why does only being able to pray seem like we are doing nothing?

Beloved, God has whispered in my heart, keep my eyes on Him, say Yes to His bidding. Stay in His Word. Follow Jesus. Stay away from negative emotions and comparisons. Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus.  Lastly,  Psalm 91 and 94 are great Psalms to pray through.

I’ve seen (and used) this scripture in various places this week! I think God is whispering to me through you to focus more on these words. Let them linger. Thank you for sharing, Diana!

    Hi Diana!

This is my first visit to your blog and I am blessed to be here. Psalm 91 was the first Psalm (excluding Psalm 23) that I memorized and I learned it because I was so in need of the reminder that He is my sovereign protector and will keep me near His heart. Praying with His Word, inserting my name right into the words is exactly how I learned to pray. His Word is powerful.
    Blessings,
    Dawn
