Whispers from God 2

Whispers from God

My friend and computer guru, Barbie Swihart Hernandez, has a weekend blog link up, her blog is Whisper, Worship and Wanderings. On the weekend, she has a link up and so today I will link up with her weekend blog.  I love her blog title and borrowed the Whispers from God theme to post what God whispered to me this week

Beloved, have you heard the voice of God this week?

I haven’t heard the audible voice of God, but I hear Him reassuring me in His word. You see, beloved even if we do not read God’s word, we see evidence of God in creation. When Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey colt, He shares that creation will cry out in Luke 19: 37-40

When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the road said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” (NIV)

In Proverbs 16:9 says that God directs our steps.

The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.

Each day as I read God’s word and pray, I am a peace maker.  I give my day to the Lord, I am the arms of Jesus. Some days are more difficult than others. This week I offered hope in God.  I ask this question, “Do you have faith?”  I wear a cross necklace and my bracelet is a message that I am a Christian. Daily, despite what is happening with me or how I feel, I put one foot in front of the other and press on.

Daily, I see God in the sunrise and sunsets. He is the Great I Am. He is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and end. Yahweh

This week as I listened to God, I gave Him my doubts. Lord, why do I have so much pain? I may never know why but I do know that God’s Grace is enough to meet my needs. The Apostle Paul had a thorn in his side that he asked for thorn removal. We see God’s reply in 2 Corinthians 12: 8-10

Paul’s Thorn and God’s Grace

Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore, I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

When I feel insecure, He is my security. When I feel inadequate, He is adequate to meet my needs. When I feel like I have let him down, He calls me His daughter. When I feel discouraged, He is my encouragement. When I feel sad, He is my joy. When I feel helpless, He is my hope. When I feel weak, He is strong. When I feel distress, He is my hope.

This week with the help of taking my thoughts to the Lord as Paul did in 2 Corinthians 10: 4-6,

Paul Defends his Ministry
for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.

I call this threshold thinking. Every door has a threshold and we need to stop the negative thoughts before the thoughts enter our mind and we need to chase them with the truth. So when I thought this week that I am worthless, I counter with the truth that I am the daughter of the King of Kings, I am Christ friend, and I am complete in Christ. The thought that I am hopeless, I counter with the truth that I can find grace and mercy in the time of need and that hope prevails. Beloved, do you know that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit. I have a page listing who you are in Christ.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my

Beloved, God is whispering, He is waiting for you to realize who you are as your soul waits on God. What is God saying to you?

Wonderful words, Diana. Yes, God is everything we need and how comforting that is. We are nothing and He is everything. We don’t have to “be” anything. Just to rest in Him is enough. Bless you!

Ah, it’s not easy to have a ‘thorn in the flesh’–I’ve been studying the second book of Corinthians, so I loved to hear your words on what you read :). I’m so glad you know where to take your insecurities and muddled thoughts–I’ve found it makes all the difference!
