Whispers From God 4

Whispers from God

Do you remember the game where you say something to one person and that person tells the next and then the last one shares what was whispered? Usually what is said is no where close to what is heard. Do you have a prayer journal? I would like to challenge you to take a composition book or your journal adding or leaving space for listening to God. The composition books are on sale at Staples for fifty cents. I purchased five yesterday so as I find others of like mind, I will encourage the system I follow.

Becky Tirabassi encourages bible reading and praying. She developed “Change Your Life Bible,” and “My Prayer Partner Journal.” The journal is divided in two parts for my PART in prayer which is praise, admission, requests, and thanksgiving. The second part is God’s Part in prayer which is the L, M, N, O, P. So, this is where listening is recorded, what is God saying?  Also, we hear God’s whispers when listening to Messages. The N, O, and P stands for verses from the New Testament, Old Testament and Proverbs. Writing out bible verses is a good way to absorb God’s word. Memorizing God’s word is an excellent way to hear God’s voice.  I love when I am able to recall God’s word because I have hidden His word in my heart.

So, this week the whispers I hear are about His love, grace, and mercy.  John describes himself as the disciple loved by Jesus. I am God’s child. Beloved,         1 John 4:19 says, “We love God because He first loved us.” Do you realize that when Jesus died on the cross He died with each of us on His mind?

Im not on an ego trip
Im nothing on my own
I make mistakes, often slip
Just common flesh and bones

But Ill prove someday just what I say
Im of a special kind
When He was on the cross
I was on His mind

A look of love was on His face
The thorns on His head
The blood was on that scarlet robe
And stained a crimson red

Though His eyes were on the crowd that day
He looked ahead in time
Cause when He was on the cross
I was on His mind

He knew me, yet He loved me
He whose glory makes the Heaven shine
So unworthy of such mercy
Yet when He was on the cross
I was on His mind

Yet when He was on the cross
I was on His mind

I hear God’s whisper about His grace and His workmanship, some versions say His masterpiece.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2: 8-10

I hear God’s whisper that His grace sufficiently meets my needs just as He met Paul’s needs.

Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12: 8-10

I hear God’s whispers that His word is all I need because His word judges my thoughts and attitudes.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrew 4:12

I hear the co-operation of God’s word of His grace and mercy for us.

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

Lastly, I hear God’s whisper telling me that He knows our names. His son Jesus laid His life down, He is the good shepherd.

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10: 14-15

Beloved, what is God whisper to you? Who in your sphere of influence is God whispering for you to share His love?

Dear Mary, I forgot the best part is to keep a to do list and if your thoughts are interrupted with a To Do, you just write it down and then go back to praying. Love you Diana

Dear Mary, I forgot to share the To Do list. have one and when you are prompted in the middle of prayer time, just flip and jot it down and then go back to prayer.
