Whispers from God 6

Whispers from God

Weekend link up with my wonderful friend Barbie Hernandez Swihart – Weekend Whisper, Worship and Wanderings.

Beloved, how are you? If you click on the link above you will read Mary Geisen post about God leading her out of this position of writing every other weekend for Barbie. It has been a year since I met Barbie on-line. The challenge that brought us together writing for thirty-one days in October. She graciously educated me as I had no idea what was a button. She made me one and we have been together since September last year. She is a wonderful computer resource and she redid my blog so I feel like a princess when I write on this beautiful site. Lastly, she encourages me. Do you have some one in your life that encourages you just because? I hope I am one of your encouragers.

This week was the first week of Stress-Less Living at Tracie Miles.com   Tracie encourages us to turn to Jesus when stressed and sick from stress events. When has your heart been burdened with stress? What kind of stressors are you facing? How do you cope with stress?

As I started the book Stress-less Living, I began to hear soft whispering to my soul. God saying, “I am in charge.” “I am the eternal Healer of hearts.” Yes, Diana, your heart.

While reading on page 19 that God allows us to get to the end of our rope, I can relate. The year is 2008, my job is stressful. A small nauseous feeling in my stomach for several weeks I suffered but the nausea would go away so I ignored this symptom.  The work of a nursing supervisor for home health never ends. It was nothing for me to work ten-hour days and have on call. So the morning I woke up in excruciating pain was beyond my comprehension. Yes, it was serious, I was in surgery by noon for a perforated ulcer. I recovered and returned to my highly stressful jog. Then a year later I suffered another stress related illness but I listened this time. I gave notice and left my management job and became a hospital case manager. Stepping down from my management job was the best decision ending a highly stressful time in my life.

What is God asking you to change?

What verses can you claim when feeling stressed?

Would you share one in the comments?

Mary Geisen you will be missed, thank you for all of the encouragement over this year.

Beloved, God is good all the time and all the time is good. God loved us first. He proclaims in Psalm 139:14 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,

  1. Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
    Calling for you and for me;
    See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
    Watching for you and for me.

    • Refrain:
      Come home, come home,
      You who are weary, come home;
      Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
      Calling, O sinner, come home!
  2. Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
    Pleading for you and for me?
    Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
    Mercies for you and for me?
  3. Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
    Passing from you and from me;
    Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
    Coming for you and for me.
  4. Oh, for the wonderful love He has promised,
    Promised for you and for me!
    Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
    Pardon for you and for me.
